Case Types

Crosswalk Strikes

Marked and unmarked crosswalks. Driver-yield duty under Fla. Stat. §316.130.

Parking-Lot Incidents

Backing-up cases, theme-park lots, hospital and retail lots. Property owner may share liability.

Hit-and-Run

When the at-fault driver flees, UM coverage on a household auto policy can be the recovery source. Police investigation runs in parallel.

School-Zone / Bus-Stop

Florida's reduced school-zone speed limits and bus-stop yield rules. School-district defendants trigger Fla. Stat. §768.28 caps.

Catastrophic Injury / TBI

Traumatic brain injury, spinal-cord injury, amputation. Life-care plans and vocational rehab analysis drive damages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Florida PIP cover pedestrians?+

PIP follows the auto policy. If you own a car with PIP, your PIP covers your medical bills even when struck as a pedestrian. If a household member owns a car with PIP, that PIP may cover you. If no household PIP exists, the at-fault driver's policy is primary.

What if I was jaywalking?+

Florida's modified comparative negligence rule still allows recovery if your fault is 50% or less. Jaywalking does not automatically bar a claim — the driver may still be primarily liable for failing to keep a proper lookout.

Are theme parks (Disney, Universal) different?+

Theme-park parking lots, monorails, and shuttle areas are privately owned. The park itself can be a defendant for negligent crosswalk design or insufficient lighting in addition to the at-fault driver.
