Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to a website everyone can use

Vasquez Law Firm, PLLC is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that everyone — regardless of ability — should be able to learn about their legal options, contact our attorneys, and access information about our services.

1. Our Commitment

We are working to make our website conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, cognitive, motor, and neurological impairments.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our website, train our team, and update our content and code to remove barriers and improve the experience for all users.

2. Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Vasquez Law Firm website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to bring all content into full conformance.

3. Accessibility Features

Our website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background
  • Resizable text without loss of content or functionality
  • Keyboard-navigable menus, forms, and interactive elements
  • Visible focus indicators on links, buttons, and form fields
  • ARIA labels on icons, controls, and dynamic content where needed
  • Bilingual content (English and Spanish) for our primary audiences
  • Respect for the user's reduced-motion system preference

4. Compatible Browsers and Assistive Technologies

Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), and TalkBack (Android)
  • Speech recognition software including Dragon NaturallySpeaking
  • Operating system magnification and high-contrast modes
  • Keyboard-only navigation

The site is tested on current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Older browser versions may not support every accessibility feature.

5. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content on our website may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

  • Some older blog posts may contain images without complete alternative text — we are reviewing and updating archived content
  • Some embedded third-party content (videos, maps, social media widgets) may not meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA in full
  • PDF documents published before our accessibility program began may not be fully tagged for screen readers

If you encounter content that is inaccessible to you, please contact us using the information below and we will provide the information in an alternate accessible format.

6. Feedback and Reporting a Barrier

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Vasquez Law Firm website. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, or if you need information from this site in an alternate format (large print, audio, braille, etc.), please contact us:

Vasquez Law Firm — Accessibility Coordinator

When reporting a barrier, please include the page URL, a description of the problem, and the assistive technology you are using (if any). We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five (5) business days and to resolve substantive issues within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility complaint, you have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. We are committed to resolving accessibility concerns directly whenever possible and ask that you give us the opportunity to address them before escalating.

8. Standards Applied

This website is designed and developed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We also consider Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act and applicable provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in our accessibility work.
