Roselyn Torrellas — Vasquez Law Firm immigration attorneys Florida team member

Biography

Roselyn Torrellas was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, and immigrated to the United States as a teenager with her family. She spent her first year in Miami, Florida before relocating to Greensboro, North Carolina, where she would build the foundation of an extraordinary legal career rooted in her own lived experience as an immigrant. When Roselyn graduated from high school, her family was still in the process of obtaining legal immigration status, which prevented her from immediately enrolling at university. Rather than allowing that obstacle to define her, it inspired her. She witnessed firsthand the barriers, fears, and bureaucratic complexities that immigrant families face—and resolved to dedicate her career to helping others navigate the same system that once challenged her own family. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Roselyn began working full-time at an immigration law firm while simultaneously attending the evening law school program at North Carolina Central University in Durham. She earned her J.D. in 2009, demonstrating the same tenacity and work ethic that she brings to every client case today. Since her admission to the North Carolina State Bar in 2009, Roselyn has built a career spanning multiple states and thousands of clients. She has practiced in Miami, FL; Denver, CO; Winston-Salem, Raleigh, and Smithfield, NC—gaining diverse experience across urban and rural immigration landscapes. She provides comprehensive counsel in citizenship and naturalization, adjustment of status, family-based petitions, DACA renewals, asylum applications, and removal defense. As a Venezuelan immigrant who navigated the U.S. immigration system herself, Roselyn connects with her clients on a uniquely personal level. She speaks English and Spanish fluently and has helped individuals and families achieve the legal stability they sought. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, and traveling internationally with her daughter.
