Biography

Jillian Baucom has resided in North Carolina since age two. At age ten, she set her mind to becoming an Attorney. She maintained perfect scores throughout grade school, was permitted to bypass 8th grade, and graduated Salutatorian of East Lincoln High School (Denver, NC)—a testament to the academic rigor and determination that define her legal career today. Jillian received a full-ride scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning her B.S. in 2010. She then enrolled at Campbell University's Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where she graduated in 2013. After passing the NC State Bar examination in August 2013, she began her legal career at Butler & Quinn, PLLC in Raleigh, where she developed foundational expertise in both Immigration Law and Criminal Defense, handling matters ranging from misdemeanor charges to complex immigration proceedings. Jillian joined Vasquez Law Firm in 2015 and relocated to Charlotte, where she focuses her practice on representing individuals in Removal Proceedings before Immigration Court — work that spans clients nationwide because immigration is federal. Her earlier exposure to Mecklenburg County Criminal District Court at Butler & Quinn gave her a working understanding of how criminal pleas affect immigration status, which she draws on when advising immigration clients about the immigration consequences of criminal charges. At Vasquez Law Firm, Jillian's representation is immigration-focused; for criminal defense in Mecklenburg County the firm refers clients to local Mecklenburg counsel. Her work in defensive immigration proceedings—helping individuals fight deportation and remain with their families—is at the heart of her practice. Over more than a decade at Vasquez Law Firm, Jillian has represented immigrants from countries across Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. She is known for her meticulous preparation, straightforward communication, and sincere commitment to her clients' outcomes. Outside the office, Jillian is a devoted wife and mother who enjoys bike-riding and tennis with her family.
